What’s happening in the Limestone Coast with Lifeline South East.

OUT OF THE SHADOWS

Sunday 10th September 2023

A Big Thank You to the amazing people who braved the cool Mount Gambier weather to join Lifeline South East on World Suicide Prevention Day and walk to remember those we’ve lost to suicide.

Your caring, compassion and willingness to support each other is admirable.

CEO Leah Griffin in her Statement of Reflection said "We acknowledge that behind every statistic there is a person who has died by suicide and a score of family, friends and colleagues bereaved by the loss of their loved one.  We pay our respects to those people and acknowledge their suffering and sorrow.".

Everyone in attendance enjoyed a free breakfast kindly donated by Rotary Mount Gambier Lakes, we wish to thank the Rotarians for their support together with the City of Mount Gambier for access to the Rail Lands precinct for our event.

We will shine a light with every step and unite in our commitment to encourage people to seek help, to start a conversation, to reduce the stigma around suicide, and to save lives.

Together we can ensure that no one has to face their darkest moments alone
